Phil:

In the grand scheme of things Phil didn't start playing the drums until he was old enough to know better. All through those teenage years and into his 20's drumming on a proper kit with a band was just a dream. It wasn't until his then wife some 20 years ago saw the frustrated drummer within and bought him some drum lessons for Xmas. Not until after they parted company did Phil join his first real band 'Acrid Hoofsmoke' following a jam session at The Rigger. The Acrids were reinvented several times, and in between Phil played with local rock covers outfit 'Home and Dry', and of course the now (in)famous 'Zen Machine Gun' - one of the loudest bands to play The Talbot!

Phil isn't a multi-instrumentalist but can play several drums - sometimes at the same time!

Musical influences include Blues & Rock and Rock & Blues. The most influential players include, in no particular order, Nicko McBrain, Neil Peart, Frank Beard, Tico Torres and Pete York. Oh and Phil is a big Quo fan, having seen them over 30 times!

A Jack Daniels would go down rather well, but Phils favorite is a couple of pints of Titanic Iceberg followed by a Chicken Dansak.

Quote: "Drums, you can't beat 'em - erm, well you have to really!"
